World Commission On Protected Areas
The World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA in English : WCPA) designates one of six commissions of IUCN for the protection of natural areas. Its mission is to promote the establishment of a global representative network of terrestrial and marine protected areas.
With the help of the World Database on Protected Areas Consortium and the Centre for Monitoring the Conservation of UNDP , it manages the World Database on Protected Areas , a database of protected areas and global ranking.
She has identified six types of protected areas:

| V | Landscape / Seascape: protected area managed mainly for the purpose of ensuring the conservation of landscapes and marine and recreational | the Mountain Wuyi Shan in China , the regional nature park in France |
| VI | Area Managed Resource Protected Area: protected area managed mainly for the sustainable use of natural ecosystems | National Wildlife Cape Tourmente in Quebec |
