Vaughn Bode was born in Utica in the state of New York on July 22 1941 and died in San Francisco on July 18 1975 is an author of comic American.
Summary |
His father, Kenneth Briggs, is a poet who has never been published, he is unemployed, drunk, and mistreats his wife, Elsie, who will choose to divorce while Vaughn is older than ten years, and raises single parent with four children. In 1958, he served one year in the army and was discharged for psychiatric reasons. At age 20, he married Barbara Hawkins, a friend from college whose family is very religious. They have one child, Mark. After starting in the advertising world, he resumed his studies at the University of Syracuse. It is in the student newspaper Sword of Damocles that will draw his first cartoon. Soon, he begins to live by his work. Her married life suffers from the existence of bohemian and student Briggs, more and more tempted by sexual non-standard (it is defined as "self-sexual, heterosexual, homosexual-masochistic sex, sado-sexual, trans- sex, sexual uni-and omni-sexual ") who ends up divorced - without breaking contact with Barbara.
