Steve Reeves, born Stephen Lester Reeves on 21 January 1926 in Glasgow , Montana ( USA ), died on 1May 2000 in Escondido , California ( USA ), is a bodybuilder , actor and screenwriter U.S..

With its exceptional measurements, he began his acting career in the 1950s. He embodied mythological heroes like Hercules and Aeneas. His film career is more than satisfactory in that it was the highest paid actor of his time with Sophia Loren. When he retired early due to injury, he retired to a ranch to begin to write and raise horses, his lifelong passion.

Biography

He was born on a ranch in Montana. His father died in a farm accident.

At the age of six months, he already earned the title of "healthier baby in the county" ("Healthiest Baby of Valley County). His family emigrated to California shortly after.

Success as a bodybuilder

He enlisted in the army, where he loaded trucks, and used his free time to do gymnastics. Seeing the results of these exercises, he decided to do bodybuilding career.

He went to New York where he is studying to be an actor, and then goes to Hollywood. He did not get many roles early in his career, except that the role of inspector gave Edward D. Wood Jr. in Jail Bait ( 1954 ). He obtained small roles on television as well, but this was his contribution as a boyfriend of Jane Powell in Athena ( 1954 ) who remarked by Pietro Francisci. The latter decided to come to Europe to shoot The Labours of Hercules ( 1958 ). During the filming of The Last Days of Pompeii in 1959, Steve Reeves dislocated the shoulder when the car he is driving struck a tree.
