Sheikh Abd el-Qurna is a village on the west bank of the Nile at Luxor , Egypt.
It contains the mortuary temples of Seti I ( nineteenth dynasty ), and Sennefer , Mayor of Thebes.
Two brothers from the village, and Mohamed Ahmed Abd el-Rassul, in 1871 , looking for a stray goat, discovered an opening carved into the rock. By being slippery, Ahmed came face to a real gold mine for his family for ten years, coulrent antiquities they were taking a measured way.
