The dynasty of the Ptolemies (or or Ptolemaic, is a dynasty pharaohs who ruled the ancient Egypt of -323 to -30.
The Macedonian general Ptolemy son of Lagos (hence the name "Ptolemaic"), was satrap of Egypt during the partition of the empire of Alexander the Great and he became king of the Greeks, the Egyptians for Pharaoh after the disappearance of his nominal suzerain and theoretical Alexander Aigos -309 in Cartridge Ptolemaic
