Pilaster

A pilaster is a medium square ended with a base and a tent. A pilaster is embedded in a wall while the pillar is a single element. Both are carrying elements.

  • The capitals of pilasters are true capitals of columns plotted on a square plan.
  • Pillar engaged column engaged in a flat wall or support and forming small protrusions.
  • Pilaster sheath narrower profile of the bottom up.
  • Ornate woodwork, furniture, architectural contained a pilaster.
  • Amount perforated, placed at intervals in the span of a barrier balcony.
  • First pole to the bottom of a monumental staircase, ending with a knob.
  • In the ancient Greek , the pillar is also called Ante.
