The Olympian gods are gods Greek who, according to mythology , a resident on Mount Olympus.

They feed on ambrosia and nectar , and create other gods. Sometimes they come down on earth among mortals, to help them, to punish, but to unite, thus leading to demigods or heroes.

Traditionally, the cannon is limited to twelve Olympian, six gods and six goddesses. The list of these deities but varied over time, and a total of fourteen different. Zeus , Hera , Poseidon , Ares , Hermes , Hephaestus , Athena , Apollo and Artemis are always counted among the twelve. They are complemented by Hestia , Demeter , Aphrodite , Dionysus and Hades , whose presence is variable.
