The mime is associated with arts theater.

The mime is an actor and a form of theater which key phrases are the attitude, gesture and facial expression.

It is to interpret a piece of life without words or with few words, the main weight of the expression to be carried by the body language. The viewer should he feel the thoughts and inner life of the actor without the help of articulated speech. Mime techniques can range from simple imitation or evocation of a choreographic research that can not be "translated" into words.

There are variants with gestures of robots that actors reproduce perfectly (Jacky Mane holds the world record in 18 h 32 min).

In Britain, a pantomime is a part of Christmas , a musical, family entertainment characterized by jokes about politics and current affairs, and the fact that the characters always include a nasty old woman (the kind mother of Blanche Snow) performed by a man and a young man brave and good (sort of Prince Charming) played by a woman.

In 1956 Jacques Lecoq School of Mime creates in Paris, in 1978 , Marcel Marceau (1923-2007) created his own.
