The Middle Egypt is the central region of Egypt. In general, it is bounded from Qena ( Dendera ) to the south of Fayoum , about.
In antiquity
The religious city of Middle Egypt was Abydos , or Hermopolis. There was no real capital in this region, except perhaps for a period of slightly less than ten years, Amarna , located nearly Hermopolis.
The Beni-Hassan is a site of great interest. Y are buried many prominent figures of the Middle Kingdom , the pearl of the Middle Egypt, however, undoubtedly remain the temple of Seti I at Abydos.
