Medieval Latin
The term refers to the Medieval Latin Latin as used in the Middle Ages.
History
In 2011, historians and linguists have still not reached consensus on the date of passage between the low Latin and medieval Latin: the various studies on the subject consider that the transition period runs from the Fourth IX. Although popular usage of the language gradually withers during this period, scholars and priests continue to use it extensively for their trade. This is especially using them and their work on the Vulgate that will enrich the language: many loans are made from the Greek and the Hebrew , not only in terms of vocabulary but also in syntax and grammar. It is primarily this period that many words come from the liturgy of etymons Greek as Eucharist or simply liturgy itself. It is also the heyday of the Germanic migrations which strongly mark the ubiquity of language.
