The Chapel is a station of Line 2 of the Paris metro and is situated on the edge of the 10 ^th and 18 ^th arrondissements of Paris.

/ / The station

The station was opened in 1903. It is air, and it is possible to see, since the end of the platform, the roofs of the church of the Sacred Heart in Montmartre. A long corridor connects the correspondence, since 1993, the underground portion of the Gare du Nord.

The village of La Chapelle (also called La Chapelle Saint-Denis, given its membership in the Abbey of Saint-Denis ) was between the villages of Montmartre and Belleville. It takes its name from a chapel dedicated to Sainte Genevieve. It was annexed to Paris in 1860.

Nearby

The area south of the resort hosts many businesses run by the communities of Indian subcontinent ( India , Pakistan , Sri Lanka ) . Among the shops in the district are small supermarkets in Indian food products , stores of decorative objects, video and DVD. Here we find also restaurants Indian and Sri Lanka at reasonable prices, because the neighborhood is not considered chic.
The theater Bouffes North , located on the Boulevard de la Chapelle , is facing the station.
North of the station, the neighborhood is more multiethnic, there is a lot of people of Indian, Arab, African, and French of European origin.
Near an exit of the station, is the small square of Louise de Marillac , which houses table tennis in concrete and a small lot of basketball with two baskets and the street Pajol.

Advertising

The station served as a television advertising campaign to promote the project Parisian Organizing Summer Olympics of 2012 , released in September 2004.
