Guanzi
The Guanziis an encyclopedia composed of texts from the period of Warring States , representing the ideas of the various currents of thought of the Academy Jixi of the State of Qi in Shandong. Can be traced back to its present form the scholar Liu Xiang who edited to -26. It takes its name Guan Zhong (? - 645 BC.) Minister of Qi during the Spring and Autumn , renowned for his wisdom and the reforms he had successfully undertaken in the country, compilers who wanted to assign.
The current version, divided since the Han at least in eighty-six chapters (ten empty, the text is lost) divided into eight sections, is only part of what originally existed, but it is difficult to assess the extent of losses from the imperial library catalogs because the chapters have been subdivisions and consolidations. It was glossed by Yi Zhizhang ( ) followed by Fang Xuanling ( ).
Consistent with its encyclopedic, the Guanzi, mostly philosophical and political, contains texts on various subjects such as economics and topography. Stored at different times in the categories Taoist or examiner , we find in fact ideas from different schools. It is a valuable source for the study of Chinese philosophy Ancient. Chapter Niy ("internal work") which deals with the asceticism and has similarities with passages from the Daodejing , particularly caught the attention of researchers.
