The necropolis of Giza is a large necropolis situated on a plateau on the west bank of the Nile at Giza. It was used mainly in the Old Kingdom.

There are four main cemeteries in the necropolis, the cemetery is , the western cemetery , the cemetery south and central cemetery.
The cemetery is
This part of the cemetery meets the graves of important figures of the royal family. So rightly, they take their place alongside the pyramids of queens. It contains the graves of the son of Khufu , Kawab I. (G 7120 and G 7110), Hordjdef (G 7220 and G 7210) and Khoufoukhaf (G 7140 and G 7130) among others. The mastaba G 7340 delivered a sarcophagus painted limestone decorated with a pattern of "palace facade". The mastaba of nkhkhf and Hetepheres II (G 7510) is the largest and dominates the eastern end of the necropolis. The excavation of the building revealed a painted limestone bust of nkhkhf is regarded rightly as the masterpiece of statuary of the Old Kingdom.
The cemetery west
The cemetery is the largest west of the cemetery and includes a multitude of mastaba dating from the Fourth to the Sixth Dynasty. Divided into three parts, archaeologists distinguish the cemetery called "in step" on the edge of the pyramid and consisting mainly burials of priests attached to the funerary cults. Just then the graveyard called "village mastabas" the plan brings together the most highly urbanized important mastabas including the vizier Hmiounou (G 4000), the most impressive mastaba G 2000 which has been allocated and finally, smaller mastabas the west end of the necropolis.
Southern Cemetery
This cemetery, located just south of the chamber complex of Khufu, is dominated by nine major mastabas some of which could be attributed to contemporary figures of the reign of Menkaure. Among these graves are numerous monuments dating from the Fifth and Sixth Dynasty. South-east of this cemetery is the impressive mastaba of the vizier of the Fifth Dynasty , Sechemnefer IV.
