Situation in the Far East

The Far East means the eastern part of Asia. It includes:

• the East Asia ;
• the South-East Asia ;
• the Russian Far East , especially the peaceful provinces and the hinterland.

The term is sometimes used synonymously with East Asia.

This term is still used quite often, especially in academic geography. It is found especially in the name of the French School of Far East.
