The Temple of Seven Dolls
The sacbe of Dzibilchaltn.

Dzibilchaltn (Ts'ibil Chaltun in Yucatec ) is an archaeological Mayan located in the Mexican state of Yucatan , 17 miles roughly north of the state capital, Merida. Its name means "where there are entries on flat stones."

The most famous building is the Temple of Seven Dolls, so named because of seven small statues found at the site when the temple was discovered by archaeologists in the 1950s. At the spring equinox , the rising sun shines directly on a window of the temple and through the opposite window. The temple is connected to the rest of the site by a long sacbe. The other main feature is its Dzibilchaltn cenote , where you can bathe. Dzibilchaltn also contains the ruins of a Spanish church of the sixteenth century built on the site after the conquest. The site houses a museum containing objects of Mayan site and the surrounding region.
