Dahshur is a site of ancient Egypt , about fifteen miles of Saqqara , where the royal necropolis of the Fourth and Twelfth Dynasties. Military zone during the years he has been open to the public in 1996.
Experts estimate that the two pyramids of the reign of Snefru are the first true pyramids, intermediate steps between those of Djoser and Cheops :
- The first draft Meydum was probably abandoned Snefru therefore chose this site to build its last two pyramids : the rhomboid pyramid Note
