The Crips are one of the gang originally from South Central Los Angeles on the west coast of the United States. Consisting primarily of African Americans, it is created in 1971 by the combination of several gangs. The Crips are one of the most violent gangs in the United States History The Crips gang was founded in 1971 by Stanley Tookie Williams and Raymond Washington. Raymond Washington, a student 15 years old Fremont High School, launched what would later become a group known as the Crips in 1969 , after many power bases of the Black Panthers have been eliminated, as those of other groups advocating the power to blacks in Los Angeles. Washington, who was too young to participate in the Black Panther movement during the 1960s , decided to found his own group. With some friends, they gather near Fremont High School in the 78 th Street. The Crips are formed from the Slauson gang that owns part of the territory of Cribs Hood. The Slauson fight actively against the so Spook Hunters side of South Gate. Then, the first gang to appear are the Gladiators, the Andiasors the Slauson and Whit childhood. In 1968 , the Baby Avenues arrive in the city of Compton and settled in Creeb Baby Street. Their slogan is 1, "From the Cradle to the Grave" ("cradle to grave"). In 1970 , the Baby Avenues West led by the young Raymond Washington meet with the leader of Baby Avenues East Side, led by Tookie Williams. Washington decided to unite the two halves of the neighborhood. The Baby Avenues do not consider themselves as a gang but as an organization to support the neigbourhood (neighborhood): the original intention of the Crips was to continue the revolutionary ideology and act as community leaders and protectors of their neighborhoods , hence the name Crips (Community-Report-Introduction-People-Service). Initially the Crips were not a gang. When African-Americans sent to the Vietnam war back in their neighborhood, it is occupied by blue gangster whose rallying cry is Crip or die, so in response to change, the soldiers returned from war to decide basing Blood Brothers ("Blood Brothers"), as they did in Vietnam. The Crips then abandon any purposeful social assistance to the community to focus on their new enemy, also African-Americans, Blood Brothers. During the summer of 1972 , the Crips and the Pirus Compton conflict. The Pirus were fewer and the Crips prevailed. The Pirus then turn to the Lueders Park Hustlers asking for their help. They agreed and a meeting is held on Piru Street. As the Crips killed a member of the LA Brim earlier this year, their Pirus also ask to join them. The Denver Lanes and the Bishops are also present at the rendezvous. In 1980 , the crack arrives by Pantucos Latino neighborhood in Los Angeles. Youth gang members, since the creation of Blood Brothers, are waging a war without thank you: the Bloods Piru Street stormed to establish their trade of crack cocaine. In response, the Crips decided to launch them also in the drug trade, which further aggravates the situation of rivalry The 1990s: stabilization of the number of murders related to gang warfare The number of homicides increased each year from 1985 to 1992 but after the riots of 1992 , the numbers are stabilizing. Indeed, in 1992, residents of Piru Street Crips and the resolve to conclude a truce during the Watts riots, caused by the beating of a young black driver by police in the city. In 1998, there were approximately 150,000 gang members in the Los Angeles The Crips in the 2000s until today In 2005 , Tookie Williams speaks from death row to tell the Crips and Bloods to stop fighting. Transient follows a lull but the war is not over, however. Today there are about 274 gangs affiliated with the Bloods and Crips in the area of Los Angeles. It can also be found now in every U.S. , the Caribbean (where most of these members are from) and in some cities Canadian and even sometimes in Europe , this is because some gang members have migrated Los Angeles to the cities but also because some young people of these cities have imitated culture gangsta from Los Angeles. Both groups have a strict dress code, they wear eysdouss and bombers. The Crips gang signal their membership in the left hand, because the letter C is odd. The Crip define their territories by tagging on walls and street furniture. Origin: the 1970s
