Cima, in Arabic in ancient Egyptian literally "the top" in French , is a mountain of Egypt in the governorates of Luxor overlooking the valley of the kings and the sites of Deir el-Bahari and Deir el-Medina.
Geography
Cima is located on the western bank of the Nile. Towering 420 meters above sea level, it is one of the peaks of the Libyan chain. The mountain juts between the valley of kings in the north and the rest of the Theban necropolis , whose site of Deir el-Bahari is located, and Deir el-Medina , the ancient village of artisans and Valley of the Queens south.
View of the Valley of the Kings, it has a face triangular , almost pyramidal , which could have been for the pharaohs of the New Kingdom a factor in choosing where to dig their graves.
Culture
For the ancient Egyptians , the Peak was one of the places of residence of the goddess Mertseger , protector of the artisans of Deir el-Medina and tombs depicted as a cobra.
