Brurier Black (also called Beru or Brus and Short BxN) is a lighthouse scene punk and alternative French of the 1980s , mainly composed of two members: Loran (Lawrence Katrakazos) on guitar and Fanfan (Francois Guillemot, c. 1963 History

Training Group

The group (composed of Olaf, and Franois Pierrot) was formed in 1978 under the name "Brurier," referring to the eponymous character , Deputy Commissioner San Antonio novels of the writer Frederic Dard. Their style of music based on that of Metal Urbain : a voice, a drum machine and an electric guitar full.

At their inception, "Brurier" often change name: they called successively "Brurier rebel", "Brurier True", "Brurier Army", "Brurier Monk," "Bruriers UTDM", "Brurier Fighter," "Plague "," Barbed Wire "," Poli-Mili "...

Group members also change. Pierrot, the guitarist, is called up, then, having deserted, was forced to stay in prison. To replace it, then make the call to Bruriers guitarist Guernica , Loran, who soon joined the group permanently. In December 1982 , Olaf, also left military service in Germany , has announced he is leaving to Francis Group. Francis Loran and then decided to do a farewell concert and put an end to the career of Brurier. As a sign of mourning, they adopt a new name: "Black Brurier. The farewell concert will be held on February 19 1983 at the factory in Pali-Kao (a former paper of the twentieth arrondissement of Paris hosting the Fringe's most "alternative" artists in Paris). It was at this concert they dress up for the first time.

First period

Instead of being a finale, this show propels them forward. After signing with a small label ( VISA ), the second concert takes place in Brurier Black Room The Rocket before 1000 spectators. The welcome is warm and the group will take up to three times Lobotomy to please his audience. The Black Brurier distinguished themselves in another impromptu concert in front of the Liberty's (a box connected to the Latin Quarter ). Following a disagreement with the manager of the facility, the group decided to play for the club on the sidewalk. Indeed, the box had clogged the air intakes to push consumption. The police arrived at the scene but the public will not let them get close to Brurier, which will continue to play their music. It is said they will play some minutes with their gas masks as tear gas.

The group then a series of concerts, legally, in rooms or in a "savage" in squats in the street in the Paris metro, etc.. Group members spend most of their time in Paris squats like the Vilin to Belleville , and this life rebel activist, is reflected in their sound "raw" incisive, sharp text and rebels, raw, violent, the group denouncing injustice and embodying onstage by his artistic power a kind of cold and contagious excitement insurgency, which later became more festive ... Their reputation grew rapidly in France in the mid- punk alternative through word of mouth and fanzines and their first vinyl, self-produced by small punk labels starting at the same time as them: VISA and Bondage Records. They roam end 1984 foreign stages ( Amsterdam , Geneva , Ireland ) with other French alternative bands.

During 1985 , Black began a tour Brurier throughout France, but continues with his "bad habits". The wild Brurier organize a concert on a bus the day of an event for the unemployed. Their show will be stopped by the police so violent enough, while we're in the press of the time ( Current example).

Francis Loran and perform other activities in parallel "to eat". Franois handler in the basement of BHV and Loran facilitator in a recreation center for children Torcy (in Seine-et-Marne ).

In 1986 , the Black Brurier began using radio, the Emperor Tomato Ketchup is a box-unexpected NRJ and won the fringe's youngest audience. This sudden notoriety brings a new audience to the group, who is described as "commercial" with a small portion of its audience. More and more people move to their concerts (47 dates this year), and they even have their own stewards. In 1987 , they continue their concerts, playing in various festivals independent, Rock in Squatt and even participate in a concert organized by SOS Racisme. Their career has been marked by radical anti-racist positions. In 1988 , they organized a concert for 6,800 people at the Zenith. The Brurier are so many more, they began gradually transformed festive while keeping the cold blood of their beginnings, borrowing elements on stage at the circus , combining their traditional costumes of grotesque clown noses, and adding disk whistles and Eastern instrumentation with police sirens, mixing punk and destroy the atmosphere " band "on the album abracadaboum. To create this version of "Circus," they were joined by members of other groups. On stage we find Francis, Loran, the little Tweety, Helno , Paskal Kung-Fu, Masto , brothers Lulu, Jojo and a magician. In terms of French rock, only phone and Indochina had managed to fill the hall before them Separation

On April 17, 1988, when a terrorist group called "Black War" blew up the offices of the President of the Regional Chamber of Bailiffs. The police accused the media libertarians whose members are part of Brurier Black: they are accused by some media and police. The charges were dropped April 23, detainees released, but the group's image is tarnished, organizers cancel their concerts. After a blitz tour of three concerts in Switzerland , the group decided to separate. Always a festive and offbeat, the Brus decide afford hara-kiri with a bang.

The group then "committed suicide in November 1989 at three farewell concerts that took place at the Olympia (9, 10 and November 11) in part because of problems with their label "Bondage Productions' s stalemate tours exhausting and demanding their spirit of independence, which in addition to differences on political issues especially between Loran and Francis, was a source of ongoing tension within the group in recent times. The last three concerts Brus were recorded and are available on the live album Viva Bertaga. At the last concert on November 11, The Olympia was packed and there were many people outside. Loran has asked the team to return everyone or else the group would not. Deformation

On 4 December 2003 , where the band did a concert for Transmusicales Rennes. The few thousand people could not get the seats that day were led to clashes with riot police outside the hall. Media talk immediately reforming, the group prefers to speak of "transformation" or "distortion". The concert coincided with the release of the box "Not even death," tracing the band's career, and the farewell concert at the Olympia in November 1989. They gave numerous interviews, many hoped to return a real Brus on the front of the stage. After the successful concert of Rennes and manifest their desire to return and resume their journey together, the group signed a two huge concerts: in Quebec 11 July 2004 before 50,000 fans group and at the festival Dour in Belgium on July 18. The group also appeared surprised by the festival newspaper Combat Syndicalist (journal of the CNT ) to the vaults in Paris and in a small room Lillers at a concert where participating groups label FZM ( Folklore of the World Area , whose logo adorned already Brus albums at the time), created by the group in 2004. By this label, Brus broadcast their records, but especially revive a "cons-culture movement" by spreading many items such as fanzines, political writings, independent comics, and a multitude of small independent groups. The band also played in August 2005 in Brest, at the festival Astropolis, where an evening was organized FZM. This concert was a surprise concert, the group was announced as the "Kamouflage.

Following the concerts of "distortion", Brurier Black has released a CD-DVD recounting these events, the Opera wolves.

We could see the end of the demonstration on 1 May 2006 "but Francis, therefore Amps" playing on a vehicle with the colors of the CNT (so-called "Vignoles").
