Writing
The Asturian is written using the Latin alphabet. In 1981, the Asturian Language Academy (Academia de la Asturiana Llingua) promulgated standards checkers, largely inspired by those of the Castilian. During the thirteenth and fourteenth century, the Asturian is present in the drafting of administrative and public notaries. Although the higher authorities characterize the language as little nobility, Asturian is nevertheless maintained the custom of popular classes.
