In grammar , an adjective is called a category of word which enlisted the name to express a quality (adjective), a relation ( relational adjective ) or to allow it to be updated in a phrase (determiner adjective). The word stands including determining its distribution in the sentence.

  • The adjective (adjective), meanwhile, performs the syntactic function of epithet in determining a specific property of all he describes, often the name. It is said attribute in determining a generic property of a group referred to by name, by means of a verb. It should however be careful not to confuse the nature of the adjective with these functions it can perform in the sentence.

Some adjectives ending in e in the masculine as feminine: pal e, e mal, e oval, e faithful, frail e, e hail, etc.. what are adjectives epicenes.

The word in French grammar

In French grammar , the adjective, as its name implies, affects the quality (ie, a characteristic, descriptive, relational, evaluative ...) to a name , a pronoun or a phrase. It constitutes the core of the adjectival phrase :

A vase full of flowers.
